Situational Parenting® |
 |
| This ground breaking
programme was developed at The Center for Leadership Studies. It takes the
"influencing skills" identified within the leadership research and applies
them to the role of parent. |
|
Parent Role Defined – we extend the
role of parent to those adults engaging in a significant influencing role in
the upbringing of a child. |
| The Situational
Parenting® programme identifies the behaviours which parents can use to
increase their probability of success in influencing their children. |
|
The art of parenting is in knowing when to be the: |
 |
- listening parent
- teaching parent
- protective parent
- supportive parent
- encouraging parent
- firm parent
- playful parent
|
 |
|
|
These are just some of
the roles or styles we have to deliver, unfortunately many of us fall into the
trap of being one of these most of the time and neglecting to use one of the
other parenting styles when the situation calls for it. |
| Local Authorities
are using the Situational Parenting® programme to help parents better
identify what the child needs in order for them to be more successful and
learn how to be more flexible in the styles they use as a parent. |
| The Situational
Parenting® programme can be delivered as a full day or in modules over a
period of weeks. Accreditation to deliver the Situational Parenting®
programme in-house is available to those Authorities or organisations who
wish to be licensed to do so. |
| We have a range of
products which support the Situational Parenting® programme including; |
| Parent Self-Assessments-
a self-scored questionnaire designed to provide feedback on current
parenting behaviours. |
| The products can be viewed and
